2010 Campaign News...

*** BREAKING NEWS ***

n1244463263_4070

Dan Powers of Burnsville recently announced that he will indeed be running for Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District DFL's endorsement in a bid to unseat current Congressman Republican John Kline in the 2010 election cycle. He did this at a recent Senate District DFL's convention.

In 2008 Powers exited the race and endorsed fellow candidate Steve Sarvi. The question is, will there be a 2nd showdown between the three that ran last time (Steve Sarvi, Dan Powers and Peter Idusogie)? So Dan Powers is in. Steve Sarvi is 95% likely to be in. No word yet on Peter Idusogie.

Waiting for our New Senator

We're waiting to hear who is our next U.S. Senator here in Minnesota - Al Franken or Norm Coleman...

Al Franken has been looking very Senatorial. He's been out and about talking with his future (possibly) constituents. The photos on his website are very appropriate for a U.S. Senator. I like the one of him at the podium with the flag in the back ground being spotlighted. Franken looks energetic and ready to go. Check out his comments on the conclusion of the election case.

The photos and video I've seen of Norm Coleman show a different picture. Coleman looks tired, worn out and old (no offense meant). And in late January Coleman lined up a pretty nice job working at a firm that lobbies congress. And if the re-election thing doesn't pan out and he doesn't find lobbying fulfilling than there sure might be another job falling into place for Coleman as the RNC chair. Coleman is also dealing with the P.R. disaster of having his donor's information accessible online. Check out his FAQ section on this issue.

Well we'll keep on waiting up here in Minnesota. Hopefully we'll have a new Senator before the fall.
